Component 1 -
Supportive Nutrition

Eating lean proteins, supportive carbs, fibrous vegetables, fruits and
essential fats are a must in your daily food intake. If possible, it is
ideal to eat every 3 to 3 1/2 hours in portioned amounts based on your
activity levels,metabolism and goals.  

Component 2 -
Maintain Muscle

Muscle is the site where fat is burned! In order to liberate fat,
function better and stronger, you have to maintain lean muscle
tissue.  Eat supportively as well as resistance/strength train to help
maintain and increase lean muscle (low calorie diets and low carb
diets have been shown to use energy from lean muscle tissue, rather
then fat).  Studies have shown that strength training helps to elevate
the metabolism longer than standard cardiovascular exercise. In fact,
studies have shown strength training allows you to maintain calorie
burn for up to 12 to 48 hrs.

Component 3 -
Productive Cardiovascular exercise

Cardio should be performed in a gradual, progressive manner where
the body is continually getting challenged, otherwise, the body will
adapt leading to plateaus and minimal results.  To avoid plateaus
continuously increase your duration and intensity throughout your
training staying within your target heart rate zone for effective fat
burn.
