The TRX (Total-body Resistance Exercise) Suspension Trainer was developed by Randy Hetrick, a 13 year Navy Seal Vet, who decided to create a piece of equipment that was portable yet versatile and could get him the results he needed to stay in shape. The TRX prototype was created from a few pieces of parachute webbing and a carabiner and boat repair kit tools.
As a result, the TRX has become the most versatile easy to use piece of equipment that maximizes one's training and allows you to achieve results no matter where you are. The entire unit weighs about two pounds and fits into a small carrying bag. While it looks deceptively simple, the TRX is crafted from heavy-duty nylon webbing with built in handles and a pair of quick release adjustment straps. The TRX will attach to anything from a tree to a hotel room door providing everyone a core intensive total body workout.
The TRX is fit for everyone, everywhere. Regardless of age, gender, or fitness level the TRX is versatile enough to accommodate the first time exerciser as well as the professional athelete. With just the simple adjustment of your feet you will shift your center of gravity resulting in the increase or decrease in resistance of each exercise. As you develope a feel for the exercises and increase overall strength and endurance you will be able to shift your feet to allow for more resistance in body weight. With a single piece of equipment that can be set up anywhere, you can perform a virtually endless number of Suspension Training exercises on the TRX to achieve any fitness or performance goal. You can instantly adapt the resistance by adjusting your body position to create a safe and effective workout for all fitness levels.
Your center of gravity is located just above your hips along the midline of the body. Adjusting your body position will shift your center of gravity, which is exactly the design of the TRX. With each exercise on the TRX your entire core is engaged to stabalize and balance the body.
